Posted on other two groups as well because I am so thrilled with this
I am posting here too.
So very thrilled to say the least. My hubby and I are huge fans of
Dennis DeYoung and we attended a concert last year. Our song is
"Babe" which Dennis wrote of course and because of the rift with
Tommy and the band, they can't sing that song... so even though we'd
seen Styx a number of times, we never got to hear our song live till
last year. We were unable to get graphs at that time so I decided I'd
like to send photos of the concert and ask if they'd sign those.
Never thought I'd get anything back but got more than that back today.
Both Dennis and Suzanne signed my photos and Suzanne included extras
so I have to additional signed items (by her and him). In addition,
she wrote me a note and asked if she might publish my letter on their
website. I just emailed now to say go for it. Very exciting. My
letter was personal; but I guess it's a "true" fan letter. I had a
lot of personal connections with them and so you can read it on their
site soon probably. I know some people have asked what goes in a fan
letter that is true rather than just "give me a graph". This is a
good opportunity to see what others might write.

Me either; I got my first note of that in high school. I got picked
for this special thing (12 Juniors to wear white dresses and carry
roses and escort the Seniors at graduation). We were supposed to sing
Paul Anka's song "Remember" or whatever. I won the slot apparently for
popularity rather than voice. I was singled out slowly from the group
when they weren't getting it right and was promptly told I was tone
deaf! LOL they let me stay but I had to lip sync. How embarrassing!
Almost as bad as the state track meet. What an honor to run in a
state meet! Till I dropped the baton. Those were embarrassing
moments one and two. I can't dance, sing... oh well; but no way would
I go out for American Idol...

Speaking of American Idol, I have to mention this... has anyone seen
"Rock the Cradle"? OH MY GOD. These are famous kids of rock stars.
They SUCK 10 times worse than the American Idol contestants! Holy
crap. I thought Olivia Newton John's kid was worse than Yoko Ono
caught in a blender and she was NOT booted! One of the judges gives
her a 9 and 9.5 and I think he's just wanting to get into her pants
because WHAT THE HELL WAS HE THINKING! Oh wow; the judges need to be
booted. Where's Simon when you need him? Actually Eddie Money's
daughter Jesse was booted and honestly? She sounds better in person
than on that show (so she was unfairly booted and If I remember she
had second highest score). I think public is voting for popularity of
dads/moms than the actual voices of the kids. But then again, why
would Al B Sure or MC Hammer, or Dee Snider be more popular than Eddie
Money?

The ONLY talent on there I think it Joe Walsh's daughter but she's
"common" sounding and Kenny Loggin's son who I think has raw talent
but does not know how to entertain (very mechanical). The rest are
wanna be rockers who are almost as bad as I am! And that's pretty
bad!!!! No, that's rEALLY bad. If you've not caught it, do so. It's
on MTV I think and was last night. Warning though: it's painful to
the ears. you might be flipping channels for relief I know I did!
