GREAT IDEA!! When doing your Christmas cards this year, take one
card and send it to this address. If we pass this on and everyone
sends one card, think of how many cards these wonderful special people
who have sacrificed so much would get.

When you are making out your Christmas card list this year, please
include the following:

A Recovering American Soldier
c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Avenue,NW
Washington,D.C. 20307-5001

If you approve, please pass it on.

thanks for the address gummby!

my wife and i- we have an american soldier in iraq right now; his mother and
father are in our sunday school class at church. i've been seriously
thinking about dropping him a line and here's even a thought-I have been
thinking of asking for autographs from his unit.

would that be appropiate in saying, hey I support you guys?!!!

Well, when I received this in an email, I thought that this was a good
idea for us to do with extra cards and stamps we might have. Turns
out, either the USPS, Walter Reed or someone along the line, will not
allow mail to soldiers unless it is formally addressed to someone.
This stretches back to the Anthrax scare of years back. Just because
some boneheaded idiot has too much free time, access to poison and
postage stamps, our mail delivery is forever changed. I am being told
that the Red Cross has something similar to help let the soldiers know
that they are remembered.
