Autograph World has been getting by with this for a long time. The
autographs they sold over the past years have been (at best)
questionable. Look at the images they posted on Startiger in 2004.
The photos below (with the copyright Autograph World in the right
corner) are just some of their past 'autographs'.

Most of these look like they were autographed by the same person!
Smells fishy…..

Oh what the heck, I’m bored and this group is dead anyhow so I’ll play
with ya.

1st you want us to believe that a large autograph dealer who gets
their stuff in person thorough themselves or employees is paying to
belong to Star Tiger? Come on, the addresses on there are garbage, who
cares other then a few people who played the 3rd secretary in a movie,
there are no A list addresses or even many decent B list addresses
there. They don’t collect through the mail so they aren’t posting
addresses and or their images.

If you were wanted to prove something how about you use one of their
links from their site, their old auctions still have photos attached.

My money is these are your images from your own sad sack collection.

Lets see your id is new, so you’re a coward and don’t want us to know
how you are, sounds like a failed dealer or just good old fashion case
of SOUR GRAPES.

Lets go back to your images, lets see one dead link, at least 5
repeats, you can’t even do a good job cutting and pasting, let alone
prove a point.

Again just another pot shot with no real proof.

Tell you what, I’ll even help you out, I’ll show you where to start.

Go to their site, and find what you think is something questionable.
Then do real research with reputable dealers.
Look for signed contracts, checks etc that are legit,
Then send everyone the links, not a photobucket picture you uploaded
but real links.
This way people can decide.
Pick a B lister their easier to track down, contact them or their
agents and have them look at it.

That’s how you start to do research…..all your doing is creating
fiction.

Lets try it, I think you are an international food thief and I can
provide the flixr pictures to prove it.

J. D.

I can give Dennis thumbs up on running AutographDC. It's a group for
anyone who is interested in learning how to collect and sell
autographs. And links, decent autograph photos, and other yahoogroup
links that are on autograph collecting are allowed to be posted. But
Dennis does a good job in keeping this group in order. And I
appreciate Mike and Sue who post in AutographDC.

I've been collecting autographs since 1975, and was one of the very
first to do celebrity home addresses online. My old site was called
"CHIP'S CELEBRITY HOME AND E-MAIL ADDRESSES". I even helped Mike a
long time ago, too.

I have to believe what I've seen with my own eyes and echo your endorsement
for Autograph world. When I use to go to the Cheller Theatre conventions in
the meadowlands there was JD running around getting signing deals with as
many guests as possible.

If I was worried about them, I'd not be thinking of buying two
items... If you can't trust them, then we are really screwed in this
hobby as there is nobody to trust.

I am the most cynical person; all on here know that (I get flack for
it continually by people who don't know my good intentions), so for me
to endorse them also means something.

None of those are authentic, and Winona Ryder doesn't sign for anyone.
If you're using StarTiger for a reference, just forget about using the
dealer examples to compare. Only individuals posting in-person and
some of the thru-the-mail are good for examples. Many dealers post
images to bolster consumer confidence in what they're selling.

I started the initial thread about AutographWorld and its authenticity
but having back-and-forth conversations via e-mail with Bob Jones fro
AW he removed some of my doubt. I was not 'sold' on the amount o
autographs they had/have of certain celebrities, thus posting m
concerns. Am I still somewhat skeptical? Sure, but not to the degree a
I initally was.

AW has many auctions at various prices of numerous celebrities. I neve
seen those photos before and agree with the other posters in that A
would not have sold those. I have searched many celebrities through th
research tab in their website and admit I maintain some reversations o
signatures, but those autographs posted are clearly forgeries

I feel that you, as well as any collector, has the right to be
skeptical with dealers. The unfortunate fact that there are scum
dealers out there has forced us to be. It's also good to not take
everything put in front of you at face value. It makes us better
collectors to question and compare. I'm glad that Bob was able to
help with your questions. Autograph World, I have found, has always
been among the better dealers at answering questions.
